Sydney Port Congestion Surcharges from Shipping Lines Emerging

Hello All,

At a time when the Sydney Supply Chain landscape is suffering we’re beginning to be informed of Port Congestion Surcharges being implemented by Shipping lines.

MSC have released a notice (here) advising Customers that they will implement a Sydney port Congestion Surcharge of USD 300 per TEU effective for vessel arrivals 14-09 and export cargo with a Bill of lading Date 14-09 (USA Cargo dates differ slightly)

ANL  / CMA CGM also have announced (here) a Sydney port Congestion Surcharge of USD 285 per TEU effective 17-09 (different for USA trade).

Please note that the surcharges are per TEU (times 2 for a 40’ container) and also is US Dollars.
