Reduced intervention rates on CBIS eligible raw nuts, dried mushrooms and truffles

Dear Valued Customers & Partners,

We wish to inform you about the conclusion of the reduced intervention rates on CBIS eligible raw nuts, dried mushrooms and truffles, as notified by the International Forwarders & Customs Brokers Association of Australia (IFCBAA).

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry is recognising improved compliance with Australia’s import conditions by dialling back the intervention rates on CBIS eligible raw nut and dried mushroom and truffle pathways.

The identification of goods for CBIS intervention is also changing by adding a profile question in the ICS on CBIS eligible pathways.

The changes will require importers or their agents to accurately answer one or more profile questions and provide an appropriate tariff code and goods description.

These changes are due to commence on 22 May 2024

This IIAN should be read in conjunction with IIAN notice 77-2024
